The Original Doris

DORIS is an acronym, Design Oriented Research for Impactful Solutions, but there is also a face behind the letters: Doris Sodersten was our founder, Sam’s,  grandmother. See cute photos of them on display to the right. 

The legendary Doris lived to the ripe old age of ninety-eight. Growing up on a farm in Wisconsin and later moving to Chicago with her husband to raise their five children. Throughout her life, her work ethic, adaptability and problem solving skills were second to none. Doris’s spirit of ingenuity, positivity, and “get it done”-ness informed and inspired the vision of DORIS Research, and continues to inspire us today.
